ABOUT US

Hebert Bloodstock is a family affair. It consists of Jeff and Kathleen Hebert and children. Both Jeff and Kathleen were “raised in the business”.
Hebert Bloodstock is an equine sports team management company. Our focus is on recruiting and developing top racehorses. We specialize in managing as well as designing and developing racing programs for our clients. We help develop long term game plans that are tailored to meet the goals of our clients as well as the level of investment they want to make. We also assist with and advise concerning portfolio management.
We are a small hands on and select operation by design. In order for a racing endeavor to be successful attention to detail is critical. There are so many variables and things and situations change quickly. Getting too big and too busy naturally leads to oversights. That’s why we opt to stay small and precise. We are sticklers for individualizing the care and management of each horse. These are living breathing individuals and their well being and care come first. Time is the greatest gift we can give to a horse...time to develop at their pace. We have always lived behind the creed that the care health and welfare of the horses is first and foremost. Our deep respect and love for the horses themselves wouldn’t allow us to operate any other way.
Because of the boutique nature of our business we are able to offer our clients a very personal and engaging and hands on experience. From summer meets held in Saratoga, NY at Saratoga Racecourse and in Del Mar, California at Del Mar Racecourse to Churchill Downs to wherever our horses may bring us we will bring you along for the experiences of a lifetime. One of the most valuable and rewarding aspects of this game is the journey that these horses bring us on and the priceless memories and moments that come along with all of this. This is a family affair for us and we welcome the involvement of the entire family. Racing can and should be something enjoyed by the whole family. It makes the experience that much richer and multiplies the fun. It’s something that the family can center around and enjoy together. Getting up close and personal to these beautiful horses never gets old. And in a world full of stress and pressure it’s the one place we can all take a step back in time and find ourselves in a world of excitement and possibility like no other.
Jeff learned horses and the game beginning when he was a very young boy at the famed Louisiana and Texas match tracks alongside his parents, grandparents, and all the other Cajun racehorse lovers, trainers, and future famed Cajun jockeys that came from here at home in Louisiana. These early days instilled a love of horses, horse racing and the people in the game. He went on to work for some of the top Quarter Horse trainers in the business as a young man. Our hometown of Vinton, Louisiana did and still does play host to some of the top Quarter Horse racing in the country. He became a licensed trainer in his own right and initially trained Quarter Horses before switching to and training Thoroughbreds in Louisiana and all over the country.

Kathleen was raised in South Texas on a large horse and cattle ranch. Her family stood Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred stallions and had a major training and breeding operation based in South Texas. Her whole young life was about riding horses and learning all she could about horses in general. She developed an eye for good horses from a young age as well as a lifelong love and passion for horses and horse breeding and racing. The family ranch also had a private string of race horses based in Southern California in the 1970’s. Such important horses as Crimson Saint, Terlingua, Storm Cat, La Mesa, Bernstein, and Sky Mesa can trace their roots or beginnings back to South Texas and her family’s ranch and breeding or racing program.
